It's time to share our Thrifty Finds! Make sure your head over to see Rhoda at Southern Hospitality
This week Rhoda is also giving out great Yardsale pointers for all us! So if the yardsale bug hasn't bitten you yet, read her tips and you will be all set!
Before the yardsales this week, I stopped at the Goodwill and found this AWESOME table for my family room. I plan to paint it black to match the armoire I also found at the GW a few months back. The table was $9.99. It is about 4 feet long and 2.5 feet wide (or so). Very heavy.
Now on to the Yard Sales!
Friday - I went to 3 sales and spent $12 here is what I got:
Wall Rack w/hooks and frames, $2, Welcome rock/hide-a-key, $1, Pitcher and margherita glasses, $3 (really more than I wanted to pay but I thought it evened itself out with the other things)!
At another sale (also for girls trying to go to a dance competition), I spent $9: American Girl Clothing organizer and AG hat $3, black frame $2, shirt with glittery peace sign $1, AWESOME lion costume, $3 (this is a size 4-6, it might be too small for Sofia - if so, it will go on eBay)
Next sale I spent $2 on a long wooden bowl from Crate & Barrel
Last sale of the day I spent $1 on a gate to keep the dog in the kitchen.Total spent on Saturday: $26.50
Total for the entire weekend: $38.50 -- all of this for less than the cost of the Cereal Dispenser!!!
Strangest thing I saw for sale at a yardsale:
I found myself getting frustrated while out and about this weekend. You know really, gas is too expensive for you to make me drive way deep into a neighborhood following your well-placed signs only to arrive at your sale and all you is have is one small card table of knic knacs (maybe 10 things) and 1 twin size bed frame for sale. I mean please don't waste my time - or my gas!
Also, when pulling into a gated community filled with homes all priced well above $500K you would think the ole "one man's trash is another's treasure" saying would probably work out in your favor, right? I mean I think better house = better stuff - generally. Well this weekend proved me wrong for sure! I went to several sales in gated communitities and all I would even have wanted to buy - I bought. It was the $1 dog gate listed above. That's it.
Hope everyone had a great weekend and found lots of treasures!

this is INCREDIBLE!!!!! how about i come for a vacay and help you break in the new margarita set? and we can put something yummy in the wooden bowl to snack on while we drink. sound like a plan?
good finds, love the cereal dispenser and to add to your weird finds, i saw a partially used container of tampons @ goodwill last week!
Love the "new" pet food dispenser! Great Idea. I know what you mean about the "upscale" gated communities, I have never found anything worth my money at those sales.

Love the pet food dispenser! Genius!
Bamagirl! You did great, I love that little dispenser, it's so cute. You found some wonderful things out there. How fun to get that much stuff for so little. And you're right on the expensive neighborhoods, you just never know, although usually around here, the nicer ones do have good stuff & good prices. I don't rule out any of them.
What a haul! I especially loved the table...and for under $10, too good!
Happy Hunting
