Weekend Fun - San Antonio and Wimberly

This past weekend we celebrated Jason's (Honey's oldest son) birthday. We spent the day at Wimberly Zip Line and then headed down to San Antonio to enjoy the Halloween Fun at Sea World.

On Sunday, we woke up, grabbed a HUGE breakfast and then headed home.

This is the famous 3lb cinnamon roll at Lulu's.  It was crazy good.

This was our after pic:

House Update - Beams, doors, trim, and more!

I'm so behind on house updates so I'm just going to play catch up here.

October has been a BUSY month.

The gorgeous garage doors were installed.

Baseboards, windowsills, doors and closet shelving started.

The gorgeous beams (more to come on those in another post) and floor to ceiling fireplace were installed.

The ceilings are almost 17 feet in this room.

The beams in the master bedroom were installed.

We picked our our cabinet style (white bead board) and construction started.

The metal overhangs were installed over the windows.

In less exciting news, the septic system was installed.

Friday Favorites

Momfessionals

Hello Friday! I'm linking up with AndreaNarci and Erika! Join in!

One - Thankfully AT&T finally came through and this beauty arrived at my house this week! I had been dealing with my shattered screen iPhone 5 and it was getting old.

Two - I'm pulling my hair out picking out paint samples for #harrisonwhitfarmhouse. I've now purchased 13 different grays. I think I have narrowed it down to 2 but I'm going to get a couple more lighter than what we have here. Right now the foyer looks like this:

Do you have a gray that you love? Please share! Right now we are aiming towards Sherwin Williams Requisite Gray.

Three - My new running shoes came in this week. I hate them. I'll be sending these back. Are you a Mizuno fan? I think they are too narrow for me.

Four - Last weekend we kicked off Honey's oldest son's birthday weekend with AYCE sushi at Sushi Junai in Austin. FABULOUS! Gorgeous night and view of the Capital.

Five - This girl is doing SO awesome at cheer! This is her first year to do All-Star Cheer and I am super proud of her! She has her back tuck mostly down and is now working on a full layout. #cheermom

Project Time - Dining Chairs

Oh I've been a terrible blogger! Time to get caught up!!

Honey and I have been on the Craigslist hunt to find to end chairs for our dining table. We've ran across plenty of wingback chairs but none that really grabbed us.

A couple of week ago, we stumbled across these beauties:

We liked the straight legs and the tall backs. The were listed for $400 for the pair and retail at $400 each. We ended up getting the pair for $320.

Getting the chairs was the easy part. Picking the fabric - oh boy!

We had been looking online and found a fantastic shop that does custom wingbacks, but sadly, they were out of our budget at $1200 per chair. I love the concept none the less.

We loved the custom, one of a kind look of these chairs with their multiple fabrics. So once we had the chairs in our possession, we started the search for fabrics. This was exhausting and I'm sure some of my friends on Insta thought I was nuts as well as I showed some fabric combos.

The gray floral you see in several pictures is our drapery fabric in the same room, so the chairs need to work well with it.

In the end, we settled on these:

They are at the shop now being worked on. Can't wait to see them! Cost to recover $630 for both. So total investment of $950 for 2 original-design chairs!

Have you found any CL treasures lately?

Goodwill Glam Makeover

I've been such a bad blogger lately, but when I saw Melissa from 320 Sycamore's post - Under $10 in under an Hour, I just knew I had something to share!!

I found this mirror at my local Goodwill for $5.99. I thought the details were fantastic and I knew that it would work well in my daughter's bedroom at our new house. (you can read all about that here).

I knew I wanted it glossy black so I used spray paint that I already had!

I flipped if over and removed the screws from the back so that I could remove the mirror. Super easy and no taping!

Finished!! What do you think? 3 coats of glossy black!

Before and After for $5.99. What do you think?
