Monster Ball

I took Sofia and her friend Anabelle to our local Community Center for the annual Monster Ball. The kids enjoyed some games, dancing, a zombie graveyard and of course, a costume contest.

I've always made Sofia's costumes, so I was very happy this year when she said she wanted to be a peacock. I was happy to craft this costume!

We used an already existing gymnastics leotard, picked up some leggings from Walmart and purchased tulle to make her tutu from Walmart as well.

I ordered feathers from Amazon. Have you ever tried to buy peacock feathers at Joanne's, etc? They are $3+ per feather. Crazy!! I used a little cardboard to attach the feathers to and then disguised the card board with craft feathers and used ribbon to attach it to her back.

The mask came from Amazon as well. I must say, it was actually rather easy to put this one together!

She was super excited for the costume contest and I'm happy to report that she won!!! She walked away with a $10 gift card and a bunch of candy.

So happy to link back up with The Good Life, A. Liz Adventures, Carolina Charm and Hello! Happiness for Five on Friday.

Who needs all that pumpkin spice blah blah blah when this stuff is around? So yummy!!

This is what my living room looks like right now! Sofia's almost 10 and I've made her costume every year, why stop this  year? I've gotta stop and pick up more feathers today for the costume party tonight.

Enough of all this Saban going to Texas talk. I hope he stays in Bama, but if the goes, the Tide will always rise!!

-Four-

Not happy that a meeting from yesterday got rescheduled to this afternoon and I have to miss Sofia's awards ceremony at school today. She made the Principal's List for straight A's! Woo Hoo!!

Honey and I just made camping reservations for late November at the Grand Canyon and we will be hiking down and back in one day (20 miles)! Super excited!! It will be COLD!!!

Birthday Party Sneak Peek

Sofia is having a sleepover for her 10th birthday! I just got the invitations and door sign this weekend. I ordered from Etsy and printed at Walgreens. SO easy. I ordered them from here.

She loves them! This is the door sign. Below is a sample of the invitation (without our info of course). More details to come! Clearly I'm going overboard on the goody bags! I always do!

iPhone Picture dump

Pretty sure I stole this idea from some other blogs, but it is a great way to get all those random pics in another place other than your phone!

My pretty girl during the summer with her hair nice and curled. Pretty sure she is wearing makeup too! Hmph.

Honey skipped the Pioneer Village over the weekend. This is what he did for 2 hours.

Ready to score!

My view from my Arc Trainer at the gym on Friday! She climbed for 45 minutes!

My Honey :)

Nice kick and score at practice!

Working on her pullover at gymnastics!

Her "must-have" from the book fair.

This is a fuji apple. It was terrible. I'm on the honey crisp bandwagon. Guilty.

Random I know, but at least I can have these off of my phone!

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday Y'all! Hope your weekend was fabulous! We were busy with our regular activities: soccer, gym, hiking and football.

On that note..ROLL TIDE ROLL! Great job Ole Miss and way to go Auburn!

Saturday Sofia's soccer team played Saturday and they won 3-0! No goals for Sofia but she still played well.

After soccer, we went to Pioneer Village to check out the pumpkins.

Nothing else too major for our weekend. Even with nothing planned, the weekends still pass so quickly!
