Weekend Recap via iPhone

Well, it's  Monday already, back to the grind. How was your weekend?

This weekend we WORKED! We are getting ready to stain our concrete at the new house and we had to clean and prep for that work this week. That meant we pulled up all the protective Tyvek paper, swept, swept, mopped, vacuumed and then swept some more! But boy is that floor clean and ready for stain! (pics to come).

I got home Friday from Phoenix and it was cold and rainy - fantastic! Soccer was rained out so Honey and I headed to Farmhouse Pizza for dinner. It was fantastic!! I enjoyed a pomegranate cider with my pizza - tasty! It has such charm!

Saturday I went for a run with Sofia in the chilly rain before we headed over to the house to start working.

The roofers worked on Saturday, despite the rain, and the place looks great!

Then Honey and I headed to run a few errands and look at some things for the house.
I'm in love with these lights and already have them in my cart online.

We are going with similar lights on our front porch and garage, galvanized.

The rest of the weekend was spent working and watching football. That's it. How about you? What did you do this weekend?

Friday Favorites

Hello Friday! I'm linking up with Andrea, Narci and Erika! Join in!

Momfessionals
Y'all - I am LOVING the stone going up at our house!! Can't believe how much they have done already! In case you are thinking about going red on your house, I shared all the details here.

Business travel brought be back to Scottsdale, AZ this week. I decided sushi was a much needed dinner! I visited Sumo Maya - it's an Asian Mexican Fusion restaurant. Very tasty and fantastic energy!

Details!! We are approaching the point where we are starting to pick our details for the house!  This week one of our three kitchen island pendants arrive this week! We got this one for only $40 (regular price $169 from West Elm.  I am in love with the blown glass details!

We also picked out this beauty for the master bath!

This hat! Love and I owe it all to Andrea because I saw her wearing it on Insta one day. I immediately went on search for it and finally tracked it down on Dejavu but sadly I see it is out of stock again. It's Judith March.

Honey bought me my first pair of REAL Texas cowboy boots for my birthday! I am in love with them! You can find them here.

Random

So I'm sure it's getting pretty boring around here with all the house junk, so I thought I'd share some random things about me!

  1. I didn't always cheer on the Crimson Tide! What??? I know, I used to be an Auburn fan. Blame my family. It wasn't until I moved from Alabama in 2000 that I became a TRUE Bama fan!
  2. I have excellent vision. No contacts, no glasses.
  3. I was married at the ripe old age of 21 and stayed married for 13 years. Getting a divorce was the best thing for both myself and my ex-husband. We are better friends now.
  4. I love being a runner but when I take off from running for an extended period of time, I HATE running.
  5. My favorite color is red.
  6. I've had 2 breast augmentations. I know. TMI? Maybe. First I made them smaller. Then I made them bigger. Truth be told, I'm going to have another because I want them to be different.
  7. It took over 5 years for me to become pregnant with my daughter. I have PCOS.
  8. Laser hair removal is amazing.
  9. I don't drink out of plastic cups, except for Tervis.
  10. I LOVE horses, cows, sheep and goats.
  11. I sleep with earplugs every single night.
  12. My favorite food is anything Asian.
  13. I love being a Mom.
  14. I love being a girlfriend/spouse.
  15. I believe in good ole fashioned "woman jobs" around the house. I NEVER ask Honey to clean. In fact, I don't want him to.
  16. I wished I lived during the Little House on the Prairie days.
  17. I've never traveled outside of the US, except right across the border in to Mexico.
  18. I always cry at church during the singing.
  19. I've never been to a funeral.
  20. I haven't been to a wedding in probably 10 years.
  21. If I were ever going to get married again, I would want an outside barn-ish wedding.
  22. I wish I were skinny.
  23. I wish I had thick, straight hair.
  24. I'm a tough mom. I'm not here to be friends with my daughter.
  25. I love thrift, yard sale and bargain shopping.
So there. Little random bits of info you didn't even ask for! Wanna know more? Ask away!

Back to School - 5th Grade

Sofia started 5th grade last Monday and so far - things are WONDERFUL! We love our new school here in TX!  (don't even ask about that wreath in the background).

She has already made some friends and signed up for the Green Team, the Student Council and the Leadership Team! Super proud of my sweet girl!

Summer Vacation - Orlando

We packed up the kids and headed to Orlando a couple of weeks ago for our last Summer 2014 Adventure.

We went to Busch Gardens, Discovery Cove, Epcot, Sea World, Aquatica, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. We had fun but...the kids are too old for this kind of vacation at this point. We had been on this vacation about 2 years ago and it seems like the kids were bored with it. So we are considering this our last amusement park vacation!

It was incredibly hot and humid, some days we had rain but the week did end on a positive at the Animal Kingdom Lodge - LOVE.

We flew out on Jet Blue and it was wonderful! Love the tvs, love the snacks and great service as well!

Off we go!

This is my sad it is raining face:
