Weekend Recap

Was there a weekend? I don't recall any downtime at all. I enjoy downtime on the weekends, but that just did not happen this weekend.

Friday night after work we went to dinner for some pre-race carbs (pizza, pasta and a salad) at Sauce.

If you are ever out this way, I highly suggest. In the summer they run an awesome special. For $20 you get a pizza, salad and 2 glasses of wine! Needless to say, Honey and I frequent it a lot in the summer. No pics of the dinner though, I was too busy chowing down!

Saturday morning I was up bright and early at 5:40 for my half marathon. I must say I LOVED this race! I did the Going the Distance Half Marathon and aside from some water shortage, this is a great race!

It was warm outside (and sunny) a little too warm personally. All in all I ran a great race and won 3rd place in my age group with a 1:54:10. this is about 3 1/2 minutes slower than my Half PR, but for the training I've put in, I was very happy.

Can't miss me in my Bama hat! Roll Tide!

I'm smiling because I'm so happy to see Honey and Sofia at the 5 mile mark! I didn't think I would see them again, but they figured out a spot on the course to see me go by not once, but twice!

2nd time around the loop. I figured out a way (while running) to voice text Honey to get my banana ready for me when I came by again and he did!  I needed it!

 Yay me!!

After the race we hit up Five Guys and Costco then headed home to relax for a little bit before heading out for some wings and a movie. We saw Sabotage. I gotta say, I kinda liked it. I passed on Divergent.

Yesterday morning Sofia and ran by Target so I could get this pretty:

You see, Honey and I tell each other how much we adore each other and we always sign everything (even texts) with xoxo. So it was meant to be that I should have this!

Then we went to riding lessons, Home Depot (for a hoe), grabbed some lunch and then went to our local spring carnival so that Sofia and her friend could ride all those crazy fair rides and play those dreadful games.

Finally we spent some time pulling weeds and cleaning up the backyard (all in preparation for moving out at the end of May)!

Vegas Recap

Happy Wednesday!
The Hump Day Blog Hop

I thought I would finally recap our Vegas Weekend.

I headed up Wednesday (driving) since Honey was in Dallas for work. It's an easy 4.5 hour drive from our house to the Strip. Thank goodness for XM radio because I have zero cell coverage half of the way there.

I made to the Monte Carlo and this was my view.

I spent a little time window shopping and went down to the pool for about an hour, before getting cleaned up to go and pick up Honey from the airport.

Friday night we headed to Lotus of Siam for dinner. It was good. Not great, but good. We love Thai food and this is supposed to be the best in Vegas. If you go, have the appetizer with crispy rice - by far the best dish we had. I was adventurous and had the whole red snapper with panang curry (my fave).

After our Thai we headed to "Germany" to Hofbrauhaus for dessert. And beer.

After that we called it a night and headed back to our room. We also decided we are too old to party all night in Vegas. We just don't have the desire to do it!

Saturday started off at the delicious Crepe Expectations! yum!! Mimosa sampler? Yes please!!

I enjoyed "The Evis" - peanut butter, caramel, bananas and bacon! YUM!!

Then we stopped by the Pawn Shop because that's just something you do.
We spent rest of the day wandering the strip until we went to Sushi Koma for all you can eat sushi.
Saturday night we got all dressed up to go and see Jerry! He was awesome!!! We laughed the entire time!! Typical Jerry Seinfeld!

After Jerry. we headed over to the Minus5 bar. We put on our winter coats, hats and boots and enjoyed a few drinks before calling it a night.

Sunday we headed over to Hash House a go go for some amazing breakfast and then headed home. Here I am looking super excited about the Sage chicken and waffles! Don't worry, we split this entree! Service was fast and friendly. They are open 24 hours and we only waited about 15 minutes. It's inside the Quad Casino. I highly suggest making your way here. (ignore the light dagger that is shining on me..stupid iPhone)

Now, if you find yourself thinking..."boy, all they do is travel to eat" you would kinda be right! We love trying new places and we seek out the best! By "best" I don't mean the most expensive either. We turn to Trip Advisor, Food Network, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and that is how we decide where we are going. Plus since at home I am always watching my diet (strictly Paleo) it is nice to kick back and enjoy food!

What about you? Do you research restaurants before your vacation or am I the only food obsessed one here?

On a side not, now this week I'm eating super clean since I have my half marathon on Saturday!

I'm participating in the Hump Day Blog Hop with Fitness Blondie

Weekend Recap

Happy St. Patty's Day y'all! This is how I celebrated last night:

Honey was in TX this weekend visiting his boys so Sofia and I had a girls weekend!

Friday night she had gymnastics and I went for a run ( I had major lack of motivation last week and ate poorly - hence the sad run).

Saturday, however, we started the morning off right! I took her to breakfast at Lo-Lo's Chicken and Waffles and well, if you haven't been, you are missing out!

She's excited and she has terrible chapped lips!

We also went to a horse show. We are both HUGE horse fans and now that she is in lessons each week, she really wanted to go.

We also went to the movies, at Chinese food and vegged out the rest of Saturday. Oh, only after stopping by Ross and finding tons of flip flops we needed, a pair of wedges and some sandals.

Sunday was my long run day and I did 12 miles! Woo Hoo!! My half marathon is in 2 weeks and I'm as ready as I'll ever be. I'm far off from my PR time but it should still be a pretty good run.

That's it for my weekend! I was happy to see Honey when he got home last night and this weekend we are headed to Vegas!

Five on Friday - Vegas Prep

So happy to link back up with The Good Life, A. Liz Adventures, Carolina Charm and Hello! Happiness for  Five on Friday!

In honor of our anniversary trip to Vegas next weekend:

One - Nails! My tried and true favorite - Lincoln Park After Dark gel.

Two - Spray Tan! My first ever! It was awesome! I had a personalized airbrush tan by a fantastic girl who tans all the AZ pageant girls! She uses Norvell products and they are awesome! So happy with the results! I'm actually going to go back next Thursday before we leave!

Right after:
 This am:

Three - Vegas Date Night Outfit! I'm not sure if it is good or bad that I live just a mile away from the Premium Outlets but none the less, BCBG fixed me up for our Saturday night in Vegas!

Four - Tulips! My Honey sent me beautiful tulips on our anniversary! He's the best!

Five - Funny! Just because I'm feeling kinda lazy at work today...

It's almost time for Vegas!

We are headed to Vegas next weekend and I am SO excited! WE are celebrating our anniversary and going to eat yummy food, drink and see Jerry Seinfeld!

In honor of the trip, I am going today to get my first ever spray tan. I am sorta nervous, but I know I am in good hands. The lady I am going to does all the spray tanning for the local pageant girls. I mean who knows spray tans better than pageant girls? Have you spray tanned? Any tips/tricks I need to know?

So clearly I needed to buy a new outfit. And shoes. Fine, 2 pairs of shoes. So below is my Saturday night outfit. I'm still putting the rest of it together!
