Weekend Recap

Sami's Shenanigans

We had a wonderful and busy weekend! Honey's birthday is today so we kicked off all the celebrations this past Friday night!

Friday night, I took Honey out (my treat) to the very famous Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix. We were prepared to wait as you usually have about a 2 hour wait to get in, but surprise, surprise we were in and dining on yummy thin crust, crispy pizza within 30 minutes! We shared a salad, app and a couple of pizzas (so we would have some to bring home). All of that and a couple of glasses of wine and I was very happy I had gotten up at 4:45 to workout that morning!

After pizza, the Birthday Boy needed dessert! We headed over to Churn and shared the "Fat Elvis" - peanut butter and salted caramel ice cream, banana slices, whip cream and chocolate rocks. It was very tasty!

Saturday we both went to work out, then Sofia had soccer at 2pm and then we got ready for our surprise date night out. Honey planned his own surprise. What a terrible girlfriend I am! I was kinda bummed I didn't think of it! We went to see the Capitals and Coyotes play hockey. Honey is a huge Caps fans (since he worked in DC). It was a ton of fun and of course we had fabulous seats!

Yesterday Honey and I got up early and packed up for a 12 mile hike! We are hiking at the Grand Canyon in 2 weeks: South Rim down to the Colorado River and back up in one day (that's 20 miles)!! So we have been training very hard to be as prepared as possible.

After our hike, we enjoyed some Pho before heading home to veg on the couch for a while.

We we got home, I made Honey a German Chocolate cake to celebrate his special day. It turned out pretty good. I use this recipe and modified for a bundt cake.

I haven't even had a chance to watch the Bama game yet! Roll Tide Roll!

Oh and just because he is so silly, this is the man I love! He's picking on Sofia because she has chapped lips and will not keep chapstick on!

Hope everyone had a great weekend, I know I sure did!

Stopping by for the Weekend Shenanigans. Sounds like you had an awesome weekend! Good pizza is hard to find as is a good icecream place so its a real treat when you have both in one night. Good luck with your Grand Canyon hike. Sounds like a experience of a lifetime. Hope you have a great week!
